Foretold Page 18

“This time, I wouldn’t be too sure about the next time.” Lothar heard the crowd grumble to one another. Turning, he jumped onto the horse behind Dara.

  “Let’s go.”

  “Where to?”

“Home, where I can truly worship the Goddess you are.”

  Chapter 34

Dara bit her lip, noticing Lothar’s manhood pressing against her backside, his shaft hardening as their bodies swayed together with the motion of the horse walking along the trail home.

Once they reached their destination, Lothar jumped off the back of the horse and helped Dara down, catching her before her feet touched the ground. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she kissed his lips and he slowly slid her down his body to the soil below.

“I need time to clean the flour from my skin.” Her fingers lingered in his hand as she stepped towards the door.

He cleared his throat and stepped back. “I’ll set the horse up to the corral with your pony and feed them both, then join you.”

Dara opened the door then stepped inside. “Home”, she breathed.

Grabbing a wooden bucket she walked back out to the water barrel, watching the way his tunic stretched over his back as he lifted some hay. He turned, catching her watching him, then smiled and winked at her as he spread the feed out for the animals.

Shaking her head, she scooped the bucket into the water barrel, then brought it back inside. She grabbed some linen scraps from her sewing basket and tossed them into the bucket. She carefully removed her over-dress, and picked up the soaked linen, a chill lodged at the base of her neck when she touched the cold water. Shrugging her shoulders, she squeezed out the excess water and scrubbed the flour from her arms, before leaning over and washing the flour from her hair.

She draped her hair over her shoulders, drying it with a cloth when she heard the door open. She smiled as two arms wrapped around her waist, cradling her to him body.

“You are a vision to my eyes.” Lothar whispered to her ear.

Dara leaned into him, her arms over his, enjoying the warmth his body radiated.

  “You’re chilled.”

“I'll warm, now that you’re here.”

“Go under the blanket. I’ll start a fire and join you.”

Giving him a quick nod, Dara dashed over to the pallet, and slipped under the blanket. Rubbing her arms and legs, she watched him remove the cauldron and start the fire. Once the fire burned brightly, she watched him remove his tunic and trousers, then she moved over to have him join her under the cover. He lay next to her.

“Your feet are freezing.” He placed his feet between hers, moving them slowly against her ankles as she snuggled against his chest.

Looking up, she noticed his blonde hair outlined in the fire’s light, she stroked back the lock of hair that had fallen to his face; placing it behind his ear. His hands roamed over her shoulder and down the silky under-dress. She arched her hips forward as he pulled the material up and over her head.

She parted her lips as he kissed her, then pushed him back to the pallet, her legs wrapped over his hips, straddling him, moaning deeply as she drew him deep inside her. Leaning her head down, she kissed his smiling lips as she rocked back-and-forth over his hard shaft. Her hands tighten over his chest as her strokes quicken, until she sits up, arches her back, riding him hard as the climax claimed her body and soul.

Placing his hands on her hips, he lifted her hips up and down over his shaft, hastening his strokes within her until he finally thrust his hips higher and howled.

She leaned her head to his chest and snickered.

“I’ve found my mate, and I want to shout it to the world.” He pulled her over to his side, her head resting upon his shoulder. His fingers stroked the outline of the ring on her left hand.

“You are my life, Dara,” declared Lothar.

“The Goddess sent a star, and you arrived by storm. The Gods and nature joined us,” Dara breathed and intertwined her fingers with his. “What will happen now?”

“You’re part of me, Valkyrie, and I want you by my side. As for the rest, only the Gods know for certain.”

  “Keep me in your heart.”

“Always,” he kissed her forehead. “So is my word, so is my bond,” he hugged her shoulders and held her through the night as they drifted off to sleep as lovers at peace with the world once more.
